What is boomerang candidates?
Boomerang candidates are former employees, placed contractors or past applicants who return to a company or staffing firm for a new role, and they are the cheapest hires most organizations never go looking for.
Boomerang candidates
Boomerangs are attractive hires in staffing and in corporate recruiting because they are pre-vetted, ramp fast and already know the organization. The limiting factor is timing: the firm has to reach the person in the window when they are open to a move, and that window is usually invisible from the inside.
Job-search activity makes the window visible. A former contractor who starts browsing jobs again is a boomerang in waiting. Matching the alumni and placed-candidate list nightly against network activity surfaces those people with your record id attached, so the account manager who knows them makes the call.
Questions
- Is this only for staffing firms?
- No. Corporate employers run the same play on alumni and silver-medalist pools, with the match written into their ATS or CRM record.
- How do I keep it compliant?
- Match only people already in your own system, use the hash rule so no email leaves your side in the clear, and keep outreach within the consent you hold. CoverClicks never adds people to your list.
